The Self-Esteem training at Thurgood Marshall Middle School in October was a huge success with a total of 44 girls ages 11-14 in attendance. One attendee responded "I learned that you are beautiful no matter what people say because God made you" and another "I learned that there is an inner beauty and an outer beauty. It was fulfilling listening to the girls feedback and knowing that we helped them believe, just a little more, in their inner beauty.

“The many activities that the council participates in are great for learning new things. It gives you a good outlook on life. I learned a lot of things from participating with RFL. RFL showed me that everything in life is not easy, and just because you make a couple of bad choices in life, doesn’t mean that it is the end of the world. I learned how to be grateful for everything,and everyone that is in my life, because their are people out there who is in a far worse situation than yours. I would personally love to see the Teen Council grow. It is a great experience, including with community service hours. You will definitely learn about life, and all its problems”.
